The Billionaire’s New Toy is an Erotic short story (or micro book) by Ava Sterling that I just happened to read a review shared on the Author’s blog yesterday so I thought, why not? And when I say short (23 pages) story, I actually mean do mean story. This is one of few erotic stories I’ve read where there is a plot, a conflict and a resolution. Basically, the characters don’t just bang. The premise is, Claire is a sales rep for a company that sells hotel linen supplies and she is close to losing her job from poor sales numbers. She knows if she can land a deal stocking Connor Brenton’s hotels with her company’s products she will exceed her sales quota for a very long time.So I KNOW what you’re probably thinking- OMG she sleeps with him to make a sale! Ok so yes, they have sex but not right away. And she has sex because she wants to, not because she has to in order to close the deal. It’s supes consensual and it’s actually pretty tame sex for an erotic story. If you’re newer to reading the genre, I would highly recommend this story as the sex is very “vanilla” as they say. It’s a great introduction for a reader who wants to read something a little dirty and saucy but isn’t into erotica that is kinky or out there. And there is kind of sort of a happy ending, which again, wasn’t really expected or even necessary in this type of story, but it was nice to see.
No real complaints other than there was a slight editing issue where one paragraph is actually told in 1st person while the rest are all in 3rd person. This was found at location 159 of 407 on my kindle fire. But this was only a minor weird hiccup. I give this story 5 out of 5 overall and plan to read more titles from this author.

The Billionaire New Toy edition by Ava Sterling Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This is a really strong story with strong central characters. It isn't quite as lecherous as the title would suggest. The character of Claire is independent and a strong character, not in the least bit submissive. The sex is pretty much consensual between two people who like each other. And that sex scene is hot and passionate. As always with Ava Sterling, the story is well paced and well constructed, with great attention paid to the most intricate detail. It is this attention to detail that always draws the reader in and adds greater involvement to the unfolding events. This is another well-written erotic tale by Ava Sterling.
Claire goes out to get new business for her company. She is assertive as she meets with Mr. Brenton, owner of the newest hotel in town. He remembers her from a party they both attended.
I liked Claire. She was assertive in business. She knew she had a product that Mr. Connor Brenton needed and she went after his business. She would not take no. In the bedroom I expected her to be as assertive. She was not. The sex was hot but I would have liked her to be like she was in business and challenge him. I'd like to see if they two of them develop a relationship.
Another fun short read to get stuck into. Flowed nicely from the start and had a good pace throughout. Interesting characters that worked well together and I liked that there was a bit of a fun back-story between them – even if it made Claire want to hide under a rock.
Claire’s sales are clearly dropping and she knows she needs to pull out a big sale to keep her job. Her tactics for landing this new client are amusing to say the least. Love how her mind works with her idea that dating an employee from the hotel she wants to land as a new client for a few weeks, who happens to know all the information she would find helpful, as purely coincidental. She needed to be able to get the number to the man in charge – Connor Brenton. Someone she has already met once at a business event but doesn’t completely remember what happened nearing the end of it – too many glasses of wine always comes back to haunt you. She comes across as a confident woman who knows what she wants and goes for it, so she should hardly find it surprising that Connor would be exactly the same.
Connor is clearly a man who is used to always being a step ahead of everyone else so I think he finds it refreshing when he meets Claire again. More so with how she managed to get the meeting with him, ultimately by going around others in his office. I think the moment she mentions that they met before he is taken right back to that night and is already thinking about what he might like to happen between them. She clearly made more of an impression than she first thought, though we do soon find out why.
I liked the first meeting with them as you can see how Claire is trying to control the situation but ends up running scared when things don’t go quite to plan. He was so commanding with how he was acting, taking the control back quickly, that she didn’t know how to handle him. Or more importantly her reactions to him, which ended up making her feel nervous, something she wasn’t used to it. Though not so nervous that she was too worried to go for meeting round two. And what a meeting it was – wowzer! The sexual tension slowly builds to the ultimate conclusion with what you know will happen. I mean her company sells bed linen and she is going to be showing her products in a room in his hotel. But it’s the build up that I liked. He knew she was his from a few moments in and she wasn’t far behind with thinking the same. From his subtle comments that seemed to make her blush, to her sass coming out with the way he went on to act, brings out their inner selves. The meeting soon had nothing to do with sales and everything to do with pleasure, something both seemed to enjoy a lot. So much that they intend to continue with it over and over again. Connor seems very confident that she would be his and it takes Claire less than a breath to realise that he is right.
